Christmas - Day 21

Today we had our first visit from "Royal District Nursing" to organise some help for me with looking after Dad. Our nurse "Heather" was so so helpful, she even gave Dad a shave for me - I am not a very good shaver. Among other things, they are going to come and give Dad a wash 3 times a week. After Heather had gone it just felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I am quite OK looking after Dad, but I just found it hard washing him, cause he's my Dad. I'm not sure what it was - maybe the relief that someone who knows what they are doing will be here often, but for the rest of the day I have been totally exhausted. I am hoping I will be able to get a sound nights sleep tonight. Another thing that has really touched me today are the comments I have had from my new blog friends. Who would think that I would feel so touched to get such lovely comments from people I don't even know face to face. Thank you girls for making me feel I am not alone. Oh nearly forgot "Happy Summer Soltice" for tomorrow to all my blog friends out there. Weird how "Winter Soltice" was today and "Summer Soltice" is tomorrow.

  1. It is such a big relief to get some help! Just makes a person feel more secure!

Happy Summer Solstice to you!!! WAnted also to mention how much I enjoy watching your slideshow, all those amazing flowers especially...

  2. Hi Davine!
It's a real challenge having to care for one's eldery parents. My parents both died suddenly so I did not have to face what you are going thru. Hugs of support to you!

I would love to hear your comments.
