Music - Music - Music

Way back in 1969 there was a little music festival called "Woodstock" - a couple of you may have heard of it!!!. Then on March 26th, 1970 the Woodstock Movie was released, and later that year it was released in Australia. As two 17 ½ year old girls my cousin Susan and I just had to go and see it. Also being that age we thought we might go have a couple of drinks prior to seeing the movie – even though legal drinking age in OZ is 18. Well a couple of drinks turned into a lot of drinks – way to many in fact. We still went to see the movie, but all I can remember is both of us singing really loud in the theatre. All the grown ups must have been really pissed of with us. Now where am I going with this story? Well the movie was on TV here a couple of weeks ago, so I taped it, and that is how I spent my “Davine Time” today. I sat and watched the “Woodstock Movie”. Mmmm didn’t remember one second of it!! Looking back at it now as an adult, some was a bit daggy, but I still would have loved to have been there. I would love to know if any of my friends out there actually went to Woodstock.

Then in 1972 the Music Festivals hit Australia and I have my chance to go to “Mulwala” which was held on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. None of my girlfriends went as they were either not allowed or just didn’t want to. So I went with two very good male friends of mine – Bruno & Ed. Mum only let me go because she knew the two boys very well and knew the would look after me. Then in 1973 I went to "Sunbury Pop Festival" with a group of friends which included my future now ex. One of the headline bands at almost all the festivals of my day was "Billy Torpe & The Aztecs", oh how sexy Billy Thorpe was then and also when he got older. Sadly he was taken from us way way to early. As I am now and was then very much into my music I remember both of these festival as being happy times and a very important reason I am the person I am today.

*** “Davine Time” update – As I’ve mentioned I sat in my comfy chair and watched “Woodstock, but I also had a lovely bubble bath with my homemade “Desert Sands Bath Salts”.

Morning Laugh

In my opinion there is nothing better for my soul than having a good laugh first thing in the morning. Unfortunately now that I don’t work in an environment where there are workmates and being at home every day caring for Dad, I find most mornings I don’t get that satisfaction. I used to work as a Travel Agent for Tourism Tasmania at the Tasmanian Travel Centre and I can comfortably say there were very few mornings that I didn’t start with a good laugh, often out of control laughter with tears and painful ribs. I worked with some great people but one in particular named Kaye was guaranteed to have a laugh with me every morning. It was usually over something totally silly, but it was a laugh (ma legs ma legs!!!! – Kaye will now be laughing – way to long to try and explain). It wasn’t till first thing this morning and I was catching up on a few blogs and found I was having a good laugh and how I felt. I realised I hadn’t done it for a while and I missed it. So I am now going to make sure I have a good laugh at something – even if it’s at me – each and every day. It certainly fits in with my “FUN” and “Davine Time” theme for 2010. Oh by the way last night’s scrapbooking evening was very enjoyable and productive.

Tonight I am going to a scrapbooking night with some girlfriends. Now the problem is not finding photos to use, but WHICH photos to use. I have so many pre-digital. I have decided to do some from back in 1990 when my ex - Paul, Son - Shane, Daughter - Rachel and myself were traveling through Europe on our way back to Australia after 5 years away. Oh what memories they have created, some good, some bad. The trip was wonderful but we had our car broken into in Milan and all of our clothes and lots of other stuff taken. Looking back on it I guess it added to the excitement, but we could have done without that excitement. One of my most favorite place would have to have been Venice, I could have just stayed their forever. We did all the touristy stuff including a romantic cruise in a Gondola - with a soon to be ex and two kids!!!!

Fun Fun Fun

Well today I did one of my most favourite things to do!!!!! NOT!!! I had a dentist appointment. I have had a toothache for about two weeks, so I thought it was high time I went to see my dentist. I must say my dentist is really nice, gentle, caring but I will apologise to any dentists out there I really don’t like you – don’t take is personal I guess it was that I was traumatised as a child on my visits to my then dentist. The pain was due to a crack in the side of my tooth. So after two injections (Fun Fun Fun) she removed the old filing and replaced it with a new one. As usual after my dentist visits I spend the rest of the day a bit of a zombie, so I jumped into bed for an hour. After my wonderful morning I thought it was time for my “Davine Time”. I just love soaking in a bath and always make my own bath salts. Today I thought I would make some more as I had ran out – but this time I would make it a bit fancy. I googled “Bath Salts” and came up with these “Desert Sands Bath Salts”. Now I am really looking forward to soaking in my bath.

Thought I might share some photos of a couple of  bracelets I have made in the past few days. These are all made from silver plated jump rings and anodized aluminium jump rings put together in different combinations. The two with the coloured rings are a Byzantine Chain Maille design and the other one is a 3x3 with charms.

*** "Davine Time" Update - I am not a huge sweets person, I love savoury, but today I decided to treat myself with my favourite desert - "Apple Sponge". Mmmmm it was so so yummy.

Comment Dilemma

As with all bloggers I love getting comments from my old and new friends, but I am always in a dilemma about where to put my reply back to them. Sometimes I reply back in my blog, sometimes to each individual and sometimes as a group. Then again sometimes I reply back to them in their blog and then again sometimes I get so confused I don't reply at all - then I feel guilty. Can you see my dilemma!! How and when did I become so indecisive? So I have decided to make an executive decision and from now on I will try and reply to my visitors in the comments area of my blog.

*** "Davine Time" update - I sat myself down and did some jewellery creating.

Happy Australia Day

Tomorrow - January 26th - is Australia Day. All the shops have Aussie Flag memorabilia for sale, lots of people are organising their BBQ's, workers are looking forward to having the day off and some new Australians are preparing to become and Australian Citizen. Also once again politicians and celebrities are talking about Australia becoming a republic and changing our flag. This is an ongoing topic which comes up every now and then. What’s my view on this you ask? Well I think maybe we should become a Republic as really, we are not governed by the UK. But with changing the flag I am divided. I love our flag, but it is mainly the Southern Cross that I love. With this all going on it has got my mind a thinking about what I love about Australia. I have lived, travelled and experienced quite a lot overseas and just love coming home, not only because OZ is my birthplace but it’s a pretty good place to live.
OK now “Why Do I Love Australia”.

Even though we are a young country I love the history we do have, such as Ned Kelly and the Kelly Gang. Funny; Bush Rangers who were really criminals are popular.

Those of us who are descendants of prisoners shipped out here from the UK, now think it is pretty cool. My ancestor was sent to Port Arthur as a prisoner for stealing sewing thread and currants in the UK. I thank him for doing it cause if he hadn’t I wouldn’t be here with you.

I find our Aboriginal history and beliefs such as “Dreamtime” very interesting.

We have the most unusual animals that are not found in any other part of the world.

I love the Aussie attitude of “It’ll be OK mate”.

We have the most amazing changes in the landscape throughout our country. Even the small state of Tasmania has many changes in its landscape from one coast to another.

With the many different cultures that have come and made their home Australia we have the best range of restaurants you could get anywhere.

We are very passionate about our sport and have great facilities.

When someone needs help wether on our shores or not most Aussies are willing to help in anyway they can.

I know everyone loves their home but these are just a few of why I love OZ. I would love to hear “Why you love your home, wether it be Australia of wherever”.

“Happy Australia Day”

** “Davine Time” update – took time out of my day to just sit and enjoy the sun shine.

Viking Knit

I have had the best day - all of it has been "Davine Time"!! Last year I had booked in to do a "Viking Knit" weekend class at "Kay's Artycles" in a charming small town called "Loch". To my dissapointment I had to cancel, as it fell on the same day as the "AFL" Grand Final and my Dad and my football team was playing (boo hoo they didn't end up winning). But then to my delight the class was then rescheduled for this weekend. Thanks to Kay I was able to get as much experience and information in one day so I could get back to Dad tonight. Bill spent the first part of the day instructing Wendy, Alice and myself  how to set up the mandrel and weave and draw the chain. I tell you it is not as easy as I thought. I think it will take time and lots of practice to get the tension and look of the weave nearly as good as Bill's work. Later in the day Kay taught me how to finish off the bracelet with beads and a handmad clasp. I just really enjoy spending time with people who are so artistic and talented, it is so inspiring. I know my bracelet isn't nearly perfect but I love it. I will wear it with pride and to celebrate another day pamering myself with some "Davine Time".

I Hate Ants!!

Don't you hate it when you open a cupboard door and there in front of your eyes is a couple of hundred ants trying to carry away your food. Well thats what happened to me today - Oh my goodness I really hate them. What are the after? I know they come in for food, shelter or water but they ain't gonna get that at my expense. Luckily the cupboard they were it had mostly tightly sealed containers. But they were enjoying a fed in my sugar container and would you believe they were in the salt and pepper shakers!!!! Well I quickly gave them a few drops of "Ant Rid" - let them the buggers munch on that and take it back to the others in the nest. Can anyone tell me what ants are good for, why have we got them. I think they are just an annoying waste of space. Can you tell I don't like them!!

**** "Davine Time" update - I sat down and put my feet up for an hour or so and just browsed a Womens Magazine. Wasn't very interesting but was relaxing.

Smell the Roses or Whatever??

Today I  was at a loss as to something I could do for myself, I couldn't think of anything. Then all of a sudden I realised I was already doing it, I was just enjoying my own company and the company of the birds visiting my garden area.

"Davine Time" update - just enjoying being with ME and the birds.

Yay, I hit the 3000 mark of people who have viewed my blog today - I am up to 3018 - who would have thought - I am very happy.

Todays "Davine Time" was spending lots of small moments with my Dad. For those new to my blog I will fill you in on part of my life at the moment. Currently I am the full time carer for my "Dear Ol Dad" who turned 91 on November 9th last year. He has always been pretty healthy and semi active for an old guy even with lots of ailments such as Heart Failure, Diabetes etc etc. That was right up until the day he turned 91, that was when he decided he didn't feel like getting out of bed anymore and he hasn't. He now has heart failure and renal failure and is very frail, week and sleeps all the time. He has always liked a beer, so one of our moments today was sharing a stubbie together. It tasted good too. Another lovely moment was, after dinner he anounced that he might get out of bed!! So up he got, well I actually did the getting and I wheeled him out to the lounge room to sit with me for a while. It was lovely while it lasted - it actually only lasted 10 mins and he was exhausted from sitting up and went back to bed and fell straight to sleep. As I said they were very small moments but they were really nice moments shared with my Daddy.

Where would I be without my girlfriends?

The other day I came across a wonderful post on "Awakened Living". Jan was posting her feelings on a post by Karen Ely from "A Womens Way Retreats". The posts were basically posing the thought of "Where Would We Be Without Our Girlfriends". Growing up an only child has made me very reliant and extremely close to my girlfriends and I thought I would just share a few notes of the things I may not have experienced without having my girlfriends in my life. In the category of my girlfriends I also include the girls in my extended and immediate family as I consider them my girlfriends.

1. My childhood would have been lonely without my girlfriends in it.
2. I would never have met my ex- husband - some may say maybe that wasn't something I should thank them for, but without him I would not have had two wonderful children.
3. My eyes would not have been opened to the fact that my ex was having an affair.
4. I may not have come out of the darkness of not being able to handle the pain of divorce.
5. I would have had the experience of weekends away doing scrapbooking, patchwork or just getting away.
6. I would not have had anyone to share my laughter and tears with.
7. Meals in restaurants and movies would be a bit boring without them.
8. I probably wouldn't have had as many hangovers on News Years Days and other mornings.
9. I wouldn't have had the shoulder to lean on when my Mum passed away.
10.I wouldn't have the love and help in my life now.

This is only a small sample of the things I would not have if I did not have my girlfriends in my life. So to all my past and present girlfriends "THANK YOU".

"Davine Time" update:    Today I had a pedicure and my toenails are now purple - my favourite colour.

My "Davine Time" today was definitely spending time with Rachel after not seeing her for 2 weeks. Rachel and Luke were due to arrive back in Melbourne from their holiday in Phuket at around 11.30am!! But after missing a connection, mechanical problems with a plane and just general delays they finally touched down in Melbourne at 5.15pm. They both look so healthy and tanned but really really tired. As expected between the three of us, we talked and talked quite a lot. After they had a shower they came around my house for Mexican and gave me some pressies. I got this lovely purple and black Thai bag and this beautiful Thai Buddha. They also said they had a surprise for me - my mind thought could it be a ring - no I don't think so not yet. I was right it wasn't a ring it was that they got a tattoo each. Luke got this Dragon with a Ying Yang Symbol on his ankle; it looks great - still a bit swollen. Rachel's tattoo is absolutely beautiful and I am so jealous. It is a Buddha and it's on the inside of her wrist. For such a small tattoo it has amazing detail. OK - I will admit it - I want one.

Today's post is short but my "Davine Time" was time spent with my beautiful son Shane. He lives in Cairns with his lovely girlfriend Stacey and he has had to come down to Melbourne for a work course for all next week. So I had the day with him, it wasn't long but anytime no matter how short is great.
Also - yeah!! tommorrow Rachel gets back from Phuket - I have really missed her - we will probably talk non-stop all the way home from the airport.

It's Complicated

Well this is a first for me - I have never written a movie review before. I apologise to anyone out there that may be, I really have no idea, I just know what I like and what I don't. Last night was a great night out with some girlfriends for dinner and the movies. Firstly we went to a restaurant called "Urban Grooves Cafe" which I have been before. I have been there twice and both times my meals have been very yummy. Last night I had Fettucine Marinara - Mmmm it was really nice - my favuorites pasta, seafood and garlic. Then onto the movies - just couldn't fit in any popcorn but still had an icecream. Now onto the movie - "I'ts Complicated" would get about 4 out of 5 from me. I suppose it would be called a funny romantic movie. Meryl Streep is just fab and very funny in it, but as she is my favorite actress I couldn't say anything else. Alec Baldwin plays a really good part, sort of the pathetic baby that I think a lot of divorced women would like the ex to become!! Steve Martin was great - not his usual funny self but he played a great part. I wouldn't say it was a girly movie, I know Shane would enjoy it.  Overall it was an extremely funny movie, there were times when I couldn't see the screen though the tears of laughter. I would definitely see it again.

Different Packages

Who saw the news report today "Tallest Man meets Shortest Man"? They are so so tall and so so short and quite amazing.

"Sultan Kosen, the 27-year-old Turkish giant who
stands 246cm tall got shin-to-face with tiny He Pingping,
21, who stands at just 74.61cm"

I was really torn in how I should feel and react to these men. I know they are Guinnes Book Record holders, and I guess that is an acheivement. But part of me felt sorry for them as I felt in the video they were sort of being treated like a circus act. Then I felt a bit guilty feeling that cause they are probably very happy in their lives. Then I started thinking "Would they change their lives if they could". As you can tell I am torn - no matter what thoughts I have I feel guilty having them. Also from the video, I don't think they are very well people. See I am feeling sorry for them again and maybe I shouldn't be.

On a total different subject now. Tonight I am of to the movies and a meal with some girlfriends. We are going to see "Thats Complicated" with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. I'll give you a review tomorrow. Also tomorrow my son Shane is coming down from Cairns for work, but I still get to see him. YAHOO can't wait to see him.

Just catch up.

Well, I sort of feel guilty not writing a post yesterday. I had a fun day of housework, so I thought I would make myself a bracelet for my "Davine Time". Me being me, I thought I would try a new "Chain Maille" weave. Boy what a night, after 5 hours of playing and trying to work it out, I realised I wouldn't have enough jump rings and not only hadn't I updated my blog but I hadn't caught up with my friends!! So today I am not touching anything to do with jewellery!! Although I did get a couple of pieces made, but now I am having IT issues - can't upload any photos. Maybe I will leave the upload till tomorrow. My "Davine Time" today would be a little time wandering around a shopping centre, just mindless wandering. That's exactly what I did and now I am going to catch up with my friends.

Hot - Cool - Pleasure

Todays temperature high was 34c, a bit better than yesterday but still pretty warm. But the clincher was the lowest temp. over night was 27c, and that is way to hot for anyone to have to deal with while trying to sleep. Needless to say there wasn't to much peaceful sleeping going on last night. I was quite stressed  making sure Dad didn't get to hot or dehydrated. But now we have had a refreshing cool change come through and we even got some rain. You could almost hear the plants and trees cheering for the beautiful drops of rain showering them. Shane thought I was crazy when I just stood out in the rain letting the water pour all over me, it was so refreshing. I must say when it is really hot it is hard to think of something to do that is "FUN" for yourself. Then I thought of some of the words I wrote to define the word "FUN" and one was "PLEASURABLE'. So my mind began the process - Mmmm - pleasure - eating - Chinese Food from my favorite resturant - Diamond Resturant. It's not the closest one to me but certainly is the tastiest - yes it is worth the 10min drive. Now I am sitting here having just finished my - Wonton Soup - Fried Rice - Combination Omlete, feeling very satisfied by my pleasurable meal. I am really enjoying this "Davine Time" I am treating to myself each day.

I Promise Myself

My Self-Promises

I have always believed and bought my children up to believe that a promise is one of the most important words in the dictionary. Once you make a promise, that is it, it is set and cannot be broken. That is why to get the best value out of your promises, make them to yourself and believe that they are real and have already happened. Your life will be so much richer and joyful to know that your best friend (you) has made you a promise that she will keep.

I Promise Myself.......................

To be strong enough that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To make all my friends feel that there is something special in all of them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To live in the present, not the past or the future – THE PRESENT.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature I meet a smile.
To give so much of my time to the improvement of myself that I have no time to criticize others.
To think well of myself and to proclaim that fact to the world not loud in worlds but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side so long as I am true to the best that is in me.
To make my own choices and decisions.
To choose the way I live and give priority to my desires.
To be flexible and open to change in every aspect of my life
To embrace the ordinariness of life, and make it a special experience in itself.
To use all negative experiences as chances to learn, evolve and grow, instead of letting them embitter me.
To be patient with others and also with myself.
To choose happiness whenever I wish, no matter what is happening around me
To take responsibility for everything I create in my life.
To allow my emotions, thoughts and challenges to lead me to deeper places within myself.
To be gentle and nurturing to myself, say only kind things to myself.
After all I am my own best friend.
To allow myself to love and be loved.

December Skies

With a high of 36.8c (98.2f) today, nothing much exciting happened. Just tried to stay cool inside with the airconditioners going. But now at 9.15pm the temp has dropped to a comfortable 26.6c (79.8f)  and I can just feel a slight breeze. I am sitting out on my back deck with Zoe (dog) and Caspa (cat) looking at this great cloud colour and formation. This is my "Davine Time" for today and it is so nice just sitting and catching up with my blog friends. Tomorrow is supposed to reach a high of 43c (109.4f  - bl...y ridiculous) - looks like another day indoors!!

Ideas from others.

Last night while catching up on some reading thru a few blogs I came across an idea that I really liked. Julie at her lovely "Shine" frame out of fabric, but me being me didn't want to wait until I had bought some Heat "N" Bond, so I decided to make mine all out of some scrapbooking paper I had at hand. I also had 3 cheap small square canvas' just sitting there, so they would work and I wouldn't have to wait to buy the frame either. I didn't even have to think of the word I would use. So here is the result of my "Davine Time" for today. I have put it in a place where I will see it every morning, just to remind me that above all have "FUN".

Jodie Foster

After a very warm day in the high 30c's, my "Davine Time" tonight was spent having a nice refreshing cold beer which was a Tasmanian beer called "Cascade Light" and watching the movie "Flightplan", a 2005 thriller with Jodie Foster. It was a pretty good movie and she is such a great actress. I think if it hadn't had her wonderful acting it would have been just an OK movie.

I Love Skype

Late last night I heard my little red laptop start ringing to me - I wondered who is calling me on Skype, it's usually Rachel (daughter) but she is in Thailand. So I answered and low and behold it was my beautiful girl calling me from Phuket. It was not only so good to talk to her but also to see her. Rach and Luke have only been gone 4 days and we have to chat already - as you can tell we are very close, plus she wanted to check how her Papa is doing.

Today the hospital bed that palliative care arranged arrived, with a wiz bang air mattress. Dad looks so comfy curled up in this new bed, he says it's wonderful. I am really glad they suggested it, his old bed was a good mattress but this is so much more comfortable for him.

Now for my "Davine Time" update for today. I am so lucky to have my partner Shane around, it makes it easier for me to have an hour away on my own now and then. So today I took myself of to Spotlight. For my non Aussie friends, Spotlight is a large craft store that sells all sorts of stuff. They are having there sales now so I got myself a couple of house things. But the real me time was spent in the store next door. I don't even know the name of the shop but to my delight they sell Buddhas. So just to add to my collection I bought these two. As I have mentioned previously, the reason my blog is named "53 Buddhas and Me" is because back then I had 53 Buddhas in my collection. I will really have to do recount, as I have accumulated a few more in the past 12 months.

I am so pleased that some of my lovely blog friends have been inspired by my "Davine Time". It is so important to look after ourselves, not only health wise by in every aspect. After all we are the most important person in our lives, without ourself we have nothing. Remember above all make it "FUN".

Ice-Cream Mmmm

Well, I have had a fun day today. It was full of "Have To Do" stuff. Washing, Cleaning, Grocery Shopping and to top the day off Ironing. So to at least get some joy out of it I plugged my new IPOD into my ears, put the songs onto shuffle, cranked up the volume and I was of in my own little world. Luckily Shane was around cause if Dad had have called out my name for something there was no way in the world I would have heard him.  Only problem with the songs being on shuffle I would occasionally get the sad slow songs, but of they went - I was in a mood for dancin!! My favourite today (got played many times) was "Jessies Girl" by Rick Springfield. But true to my promise to myself this year I was not going to not have some "Davine Time" at some stage. As I said the other day some moments may be big, but some may be small. Today was a small moment in time. I sat down in my comfy chair - put my feet up and had a Choc. Wedge  Ice-Cream (Chocolate coated Vanilla). Mmmm it was yummy.

This is Tuesdays post on Wednesday. Last night I sat down to write my post, but after reading all of your beautiful comments I was really at a total loss for words (now thats pretty unusual for me). I hope it comes across in these words - but I really really appreciate them. They made me feel like I had lots of friends sitting in the room with me having a chat about life. Isn't the internet as we have it today amazing. Although it can also cause some hurt. Later last night while checking facebook, I read some comments made by someone I love about someone else I love and even though they were not about me I felt very hurt and sad. As I think they may both read this blog I would like to say I would never take sides because I love them both so very much, but please remember life is way to short to be bitter, angry or waste any of your precious energy on negative stuff. Just remember what the important things in life are and above all have "FUN".

Todays "DavineRaeDesign" update - I am in the process of drawing up what I would like my website to look like!! In the meatime I think I will attach another blog to this one with a gallery of my jewellery.
What do you think, would that be a good idea or not - love your feedback?

Emotional Day

I have had a very emotional day today. I am a fairly even emotional person and people around me, even family, very rarely see me down. I have realised recently that I never cry in front of people, not sure why, cause if I am sad I certainly do cry, but only when I am alone. Dad hasn't been too bad today, but still very frail. Today I have has District Nurses visiting and also the Palliative Nurse visited. She gave me a brochure on what to expect as someone is coming to the end of their life. After reading it, it sort of hit home that this was actually happening to Dad now. I sort of fell in a bit of a heap and took myself of to bed for a bit of a cry. The rest of the day has been a bit of a haze for me. So as I said the other day, this year I am determined to do something for me every day to balance out the down times. So tonight I took myself of to the pool and swan 20laps. Now I am not a fit person by any stretch of the imagination but I haven't swan for about 5 months and it is amazing how your unfitness can increase. 4 Months ago I was swimming 40 laps of the 25metre pool, tonight I really struggled to get up to my 20.   I am really glad that I mentioned in my blog that one of my New Years Resolution was to have "FUN" and make sure I have some "DAVINE TIME" each and every day. Actually writing it down has sort of made me accountable to make it happen. I really hope all my friends out their are doing something for yourself at least once a week - daily would be better. I would love to hear any of your "PAMPER ME" activities. Remember - enjoy life and have "FUN".

Decluttered Sleep

Today started with my alarm going of at 4.00am - yes that is right 4.00AM!!! My daughter Rachel and her partner Luke had to be at Melbourne Airport early to catch their flight to Thailand. They are having 2 weeks in Phuket. Now wouldn't that be nice 2 weeks hanging out on a beach. They will have a wonderful time, but I did tell them if they hear a Tsunami Warning head for high ground!! The rest of my day was taken up with looking after Dad and cleaning my bedroom. I have been doing ongoing renovations on my house ever since I moved in 16 years ago, so everytime one room is getting a face lift another room is crowded with all the STUFF. Well my bedroom has been full of the STUFF for months now and today was the day that it was to become a pretty bedroom again. I am happy to say that tonight our sleep will be spent in a clean, declutted beautiful bedroom. After the "have to" things had all been done I decided it was time for my FUN or ME time for the day. So I ran myself a hot bath, lit the candles and put some relaxation music on and spent a wonderful relaxing time in my bubble bath. I like this decision to do something for myself each day of 2010. My "ME" time will not always be something obvious to everyone, it may just be sitting enjoying my own company for 5 minutes, anything to make this year "DAVINES YEAR".

As I have decided to make my 2010 a FUN year, I thought I would just check what the definition of FUN is. Of course I DO know what FUN is, but does the dictionary agree with me??
So as I love doing I Googled it!!

FUN (Noun)

1. A source of pleasure.
2. Enjoyment - especially from an activity that is not important or serious.
3. Amusement – a time or feeling of enjoyment or amusement.
4. Playful, often noisy, activity.
5. Lively, joyous play or playfulness.
6. A source or cause of merriment.
Then I checked the Thesaurus!!
1. Entertaining
2. Enjoyable
3. Cool ??
4. Excitement
5. Joy
6. Exuberance

So that pretty covers my year – I am going to have FUN getting enjoyment, pleasure and merriment from being playful, lively, entertaining, joyful and above all COOL!!!!

Welcome - 2010

As I have mentioned I just love New Years Eve, and my most favourite thing to do is have a party. But this year had to be different as it just wasn't right to have a party here with Dad so frail in bed. So Shane and I decided to just spend the night together with a nice dinner, some wine and watch the celebrations, music and fireworks on T.V. Now another thing I am known  for is having candles going all the time. So it was fairly appropriate that just as we were about to sit down for dinner the dining room light globe died. So out came more of my candles and it turned our lovely dinner into a beautiful night together. I believe that all things happen for a reason, and I believe that this New Years evening turned out exactly how it should. It gave Shane and I the opportunity to begin this fabulous 2010 just enjoying each others company. I always do the same old NY Resolutions as well, as I have this year - why not it's fun, and I'm not going to beat myself up when they don't eventuate. After all this year 2010 for me is all about FUN. I know there will be some things that happen that won't necessarily be to much fun, but for each not so fun happening I will balance it out with a FUN thing. 2010 is going to be a wonderful, eventful year and it is goingto be a year for ME. I hope all my friends out there had a great NYE and I would like to encourage you all to have the mindset that 2010 is your year too.
