"I Love Totem Poles"

As most would know (also by my blogs name) I have a love thing happening with Buddhas. What some may not be aware of is I also really love "Totem Poles". But because of their size and cost I don't have them all around my house as I do Buddhas - I do have two little ones. The last time I was in Vancouver, Canada visiting Rachel when she lived there, we hired a Motorhome - which is a whole other blog post - and
traveled to Vancouver Island. One of the little towns we visited was "Duncan - The Town of Totems". I was in heaven, I couldn't move fast enough to take enough photos. I was like a kid in a candy store. The photos I have included here are one the scrapbooking page I did on Duncan and the other is Rachel sitting on a huge Totem Pole - from my memory I think it is the "Biggest Totem Pole in North America". I really enjoy learning the meaning of each part of the Totem and the detail carved is amazing. When standing in front of them I can feel their amazing aura.
Yes, I do LOVE Totem Poles!!!

My beautiful Purple "IPOD"

I have had my beautiful purple "IPOD MINI" for quite a few years and I knew I loved listening to all my music on it. But this week when it "DIED" I realised just how much I loved to listen to it. I felt like one of my arms had been cut of. I tried restoring / resetting / re-installing and all the other "R"s I could think of. But according to "I Tunes" and the Apple website it didn't even exist - WHAT IT DOESN"T EXIST - of course it does it is normally connected to my head!!!! So of I went to the Apple Service Centre in Ivanhoe - not to far to travel. Of course they couldn't help me - they advised me it is probably the hard drive and I will have to buy a new one, but I could take to the service centre in Kew and they might be able to fix it for a cost. By this stage I had started singing to myself even with no other music going, yes I was starting to worry about my sanity. Then today I was at Alice's and Lauren (my new best friend) was there and I happened to mention my dilemma. Lauren "GOD LOVE HER" said she had one she didn't use and I could have it. I almost jumped up and hugged her. So now I am loading all my favorite songs onto my new "Silver IPOD". All I can say is "Thank you Lauren - you have saved my sanity"

"Life Changes"

I can't believe it has been so long since I have written anything in my blog. The past week or so my head has been in a different place all together. My job situation has changed slightly and I have felt the need to reevaluate which direction I want to go in. So my brain has been working overtime in trying to decide do I go in the direction of doing a job that will bring in some money but is that just a job or do I take the risk and go for it and follow my passion which may not bring in a hell of a lot of money????
Anyone got any advice for me cause my brain hurts.
I am heading up to Susans (Traralgon) today to go to "Memoranza" tomorrow (that's a Creative Memories day). I do love everyone here heaps but I am so looking forward to escaping for two nights. Yeah Mexican and Riccadonna tonight.

"My Mothers Day"

Well I had the best Mothers Day on Sunday. I spent the afternoon at Reservoir RSL with 5 girlfriends at a lunch and concert by Darryl Cotton...."ZOOT" fame....and for those who are a lot younger than me...Marty Monster fame. I must admit I was very very excited to be seeing Darryl Cotton as I was pretty much in love with him in my teenage years. He has actually held up very well and I think his voice has improved. Although he could have just stood there and I would have been impressed. As you can see I had my photo taken with him and I also got a kiss from him. I was like a silly teenager, my hands were even shaking. I was really taken back to my teenage years. On my way home I got a phone call from my gorgeous son..Shane...from Cairns. I know you may say that isn't that unusual, but for anyone who knows Shane you would know you are very lucky if he remembers special occasions especially Mothers Day. Then I spent the evening with my dear old Dad, Shane (partner), my beautiful daughter Rachel and her partner Luke. We had a lovely evening eating lots of seafood....I love seafood.... and having a few drinks.
So as I said before I had the BEST MOTHERS DAY.

"Scrap4Cancer"

I have had a wonderful day today. I spent the day with lots of like minded women at a scrapbooking fundraising day for Olivia Newton Johns "Cancer and Wellness Centre". The girls that organised and ran the day did an excellent job and also raised almost $5000.00. There were lots of raffles, challenges and beautiful work produced. I completed a few pages, one was this one of my boy when he was much younger. I get so much joy out of scrapping the photos I have taken over the years, the good (and bad) memories flow around my craft table.
