"A Visit from the Aliens"

At last I am able to add a post to my blog. I have had so many problems with my Internet connection. It has been very erratic during the day while I was working, and then at night when I wanted to play it would drop out completely. "Every Night". But my new best friend Gavin from Telstra came today and did lots of technical stuff and also gave me a new modem and at last I can play.

Happy belated ANZAC Day to everyone. Hope you all had a great day. It is a nice time to reflect on thanking all of the diggers for helping make our lives as we have now. I spent the afternoon/evening with some special girl friends having a drink, and enjoying each others company. It is so nice to spend time with a group of like minded girls where we can just enjoy the "Ya Ya Sisterhood". I think there should be a "Ya Ya Sisterhood Day" allocated every year.

Now just so you understand my title for today!!! I think the Aliens have come and taken Davine away. The old Davine would not do any exercise - I mean any exercise. But I am now in my 2nd week of regular swimming - today I actually did 32 laps. Then tonight my special friends - Alice, Melissa, Wanda, Robyn and I started our adventure in "Off The Couch" personal training. I cannot believe I am actually saying I enjoyed it. I'll see how my muscles feel tomorrow morning.

Before I sign of for tonight I want to congratulate Kaye (one of my very best friends) and Danny on the birth of little Ava May. She came into this world today at 4.00pm. I can't wait to meet her.

"Todays Success"

As I have mentioned in a past post I have started doing some swimming and really enjoying it. I was amazed with myself just to swim 3 laps as I had never even swam one before.
My aim has been to get up to do 20 laps and this morning I did it.
Yes I swam 20 laps - thats 500 metres - 1/2 a kilometre -
546.806649169 Yards - 1640.41994751 Feet -
19685.0393701 Inches.
Yeah, I am a swimmer.

"Fish Watching"

I have had quite a lazy day today, even to the point of having an afternoon snooze. But to my plan I did accomplish one of my items on my list. Just for those who don't know I am a real list person, if it's not written down it pretty much gets lost in the never nevers!!

This morning I got up bright and early and cleaned out my fish tank. It is about a metre in length so when it gets done it is a pretty big job. I can't say it's a job I particularly enjoy, but when you have trouble seeing the little fellas swimming about you know it's time. So after a couple of hours bucketing water, cleaning rocks, dividing plants and then getting the water chemicals correct I was able to put my little fish back in their home. It is so nice and relaxing sitting of an evening and just watching the fish swim around. One of them has great fun in the filter bubbles. Every night for hours at a time he swims up to the filter and lets the bubbles "swoooosh" him down to the other end of the tank. I know people say that fish only have a memory of a couple of minutes, but mine sure remember things. I guess I just have very intelligent fish.

"Thursdays Thoughts"

After a very disturbed sleep last night - felt like I dreamt to much - and a couple of days where my brain and feelings have been worked overtime, I have no hope of having anything meaningful to write today. So I thought I would just share the following with you.
"I WILL, I CAN AND I BELIEVE"

"Happy Easter"

Well, I would like to wish all of my friends, family and visitors a very Happy Easter and I hope you all received your share of Easter Eggs and Easter Bilbies (not Bunnies). All in my house have had a nice Easter, but we ALL are suffering with colds. Even my Old Dad got a cold after having the flu injection. So I thought I would update my blog even though I can't think of anything to write. Even though I haven't felt well I have been productive with my FUFOY. When I lived in Toronto and New York and then travelled through Europe my ex - Paul and I took loads or videos of everywhere we visited. So my project this weekend was to copy all the videos onto DVD's. I am pleased to inform all and sundry that I am just about finished. I am determined to have them finished before I head to bed tonight. I am really over them.

"Friends and Acquaintances"

Yesterday I had a lovely lunch (a pre baby lunch for Kaye) with a cherished group of friends I worked with at the Tasmanian Travel Centre. I have known most of them for over ten years and I am glad they have been in my life to share lots of laughter and some tears. While soaking in my "Bubble Bath" tonight I got to thinking how some people come into our lives and stay for many years and some come into our lives for fleeting moments. I truly believe that no matter how long we have someone in our lives - 10 years or 10 minutes - the meeting is for a particular reason. I can easily name some that have been there to help me through some tough times and some that I have been there to help. But not all meetings are for monumental reasons, I believe some reasons may be as small steering us in a direction we need to follow. I really try to make a conscious effort to connect with everyone I meet cause you never know what might happen and life is just to short to miss out on anything.
So remember tomorrow when someone crosses your path, say hello
or just give them a smile - if nothing else the smile will make you both feel good.
