"Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet. It's a way of entering into the quiet that's already there—buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day. ~ Deepak Chopra".
I came across this quote today and it is so so true. Anyone who is new to meditating will always ask "How do I make my mind go blank?" I always say don't be concerned with that, just let your thoughts visit and then let them leave. If you are having the thought, you are having it for a reason. I really love to meditate - it always relaxes me but sometimes it takes me to places and feelings I really don't want to return from. I really haven't been indulging as much as I should so tomorrow I am going to enrol in a regular meditation class and do some indulging.

Now my Christmas decoration I am going to share with you tonight are my "Table Top Christmas Trees" made out of steel pot scrubbers. You just get a heap of the cheapest steel pot scrubbers and pull them over polystyrene cones. I got the idea from a show called "B' Original" on TV. I really like them, they are a great rustic decoration to put out on my back porch.
You go to such a tremendous amount of effort for Christmas. The opposite to myself.
ReplyDeleteI have moved so many times now that the box of decorations that I built up when my children were young, has just vanished!!
I think I will just enjoy the public deocorations that are festooned everywhere. I am working up a countdown of the Twelve Days showing how my city is dressed in her finery. That will have to do me.
I love to mediate myself, to train my mind to let go i use to visualise i was sitting in a movie theater, and the thoughts would float on the screen and then id watch them vanish, that was the best way for me.... id love to find a mediation circle myself, its just time, my work hours are so long. But doing art is a great mediation for me as well.
ReplyDeleteI really love the stainless steel trees, fab idea.
thanks for sharing..
A'isha
What a clever idea with the trees.
ReplyDeleteJust love it!
Kind Regards
Meditation, now there is a wonderful topic and something I do not do nearly as much as I would like to. I think that it's time to STOP and allow myself to do things which make my heart free and my mind clear once again.... after finals this is!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea for the trees, what a novel way to decorate outdoors! Mind you here and with all the snow they'd be buried in no time at all! lol
Hi Davine! How creative you are! I do less and less each holiday season. Not much into it compared to the house full of stuff I did for decades. BUT I do love meditating! I don't consider it an "indulgence" but rather a necessity. Got that Monkey Mind hopping around and its the only way to tame it - at least for a few minutes!
