My Journey to Cairns - Day 1

Here it is Wednesday and here I am sitting in Shane (son) and Stacey’s house in Cairns. The flight with VirginBlue was the smoothest flight I have ever been on. I don’t normally watch any of the in-flight movies but when I saw it was Avatar I had to watch it. I loved it but now I want to watch it again at the movies with the 3D glasses on. It had some really good special effects. I had been told it wasn’t that good, but this is my kind of movie, anything that is SciFi and make believe is for me. I seem to loose myself in these types of movies. Up here in FNQ (Far North Queensland) it is just at the end of the wet season, so it has been raining slightly all day and is pretty muggy, but it is so nice being in the tropics. It’s amazing how the tropics just has its own smell. I have named my time up here my “Pilgrimage of Self Discovery”. It is my time to pamper me and decide where I want some aspects of my life to go from here. I intend it to be a totally self indulgent time, but also an opportunity to spend some time with my boy.

"Davine Time" update: Watching Avatar and loving it.

  1. I haven't watched Avatar because it's not my kind of thing. I'm not a sci fi person but I heard some really good things about the movie though.

  4. I hope you have a great time with the son. I love spending time with my sons. Their youthful humor makes me feel young again. I better like them since we're all going to Yellowstone National Park for 6 months. Would love to visit Australia, but it is out of my price range right now. But who knows what the future holds.
