Attacking My Nemesis

With decluttering being my challenge for August and having to allow myself time to recover from my operation I am finding my decluttering being restricted to the small stuff. But even the small stuff needs to be decluttered. But for the next week I am going to Attack My Nemesis in decluttering. What is my decluttering Nemesis? It's all my craft stuff. My creative journey started when I was at school with sewing my own clothes and as I gained more confidence and knowledge, I wanted to learn and experience more and that it was where it all started. I soon moved onto knitting, leathercraft, folk art, decoupage, patchwork, quilting, porcelain doll making, photography, scrapbooking, jewellery making and lots of various small crafts. So now at 59 years old my crafts have given me heaps of love, joy and pride but unfortunately they have also given me some stress. Me being me I am always looking forward to trying something new which leads to having quite a few "UFO's" (unfinished objects), lots of things I want to make and lots of supplies. I am finding that all this stuff is stopping me from moving forward and doing anything as I get anxious about wanting to do new stuff but feeling guilty about the UFO's. I have attempted this decluttering project many times but find it very difficult and give up way before completion. So my challenge for next week is not to get rid of all my past craft joys but to have them in some sort of order, donate what no longer serves me and allow room to actually decide what I want to do next and do it. So now onto the job of Attacking My Nemesis!! Wish me Luck.

  1. Good Luck Davine.
WE did a big decluttering just recently giving over 5 crates of things we thought we needed to charity. Our house is more spacious and hopefully some poor animals will have a better life with the moneys raised.
Go for it and be not afeared.

    1. Thanks Mark - it's funny but this is the one thing in my life that I am afraid of - weird!

  2. Decluttering the craft stuff is definitely HARD! Davine, I trust that you are enJOYing refocused love and energy towards those things which you've kept ... and have had a chance to grieve for those which have been re-purposed. (((hug)))
