Pinterest .......

For anyone who likes Pinterest and also like crafts I have found another fun way to waste our time. Craftgawker is in the same format but only contains crafts. Blimey I don't have enough hours in the day to do the crafts I want to do now, how am I ever going to fit in anymore.

Security and Spam

I have always had a bit of a dislike to having to type in those silly letters and numbers when making comments on blogs to show I'm not a machine. But I have finally come to the point where I have to add them to my post comments. I am getting so much spam it it driving me crazy. So for anyone out there that doesn't like them - sorry I just have to relent.

On a much happier Shane is now home from hospital and has been given the all clear. All tests after his prostate surgery have shown all cancer has gone. So once he has recuperated we will be off on our Aussie Adventure. We will probably have to shorten this trip from 12 months to 6-8 months, but at least we will be away.

Memories

Here I am sitting in a hospital room waiting for Shane to return from major surgery. It is now 5.00pm and I have been here off and on since 6.30 this morning. This hospital is a huge complex and consists of three hospitals - Austin, Mercy and Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. I am always flooded with memories (good and bad) when I come here and this time will just add to those memories. I have been here numerous times, once with my son Shane when he cracked his collarbone and shoulder in three places, numerous time with my late Dad, I had my hysterectomy operation here. Sadly this is where I finally said good bye to my Mum and one exceptional positive memory, this is where my beautiful granddaughter Clare came into the world. It's amazing the electric energy in hospitals and not very much of it is a positive energy!! For some reason this visit I am really picking up on the negative energies. I seem to be placing myself in the vicinity of angry people. I know people's emotions run high in a hospital and there anger is probably a lot to do with fear and worry, but I certainly will be doing some cleansing when I get home. Shane is just about to come back on the ward so I will sign off now.

Home Again

Well our lovely (but hot) week at Yarrawonga has come to and end and we are back home. I may not be online for a few days as we have a very very big couple of days coming up. So tonight I thought I would just share some photos with you.

I Love Farmers Markets. I bought some Sugar Plums from this stand and they are yummy!!

Can't get much fresher than these beautiful tomatoes.

These baby birds hung around our camp all week.
Not sure what breed they are but they were pretty cute and very friendly.

Australian Summer

Since my last update we've had another couple of very enjoyable but very hot days in Yarrawonga. I have always enjoyed our Australian Summers - but as I have gotten older I look forward to our Winters as well.  But I must say the last few days have really tested me. Poor old Yarrawonga have not had a day under 31c (87.8f) since Christmas. But we have had most days around 35c (95f) and on Thursday we had a day with 42c (107.6)!!!! My goodness it was hard to take especially being in our camper.
This was the temperature in the car when we returned after lunch!!!
So to cope we took ourselves on a day long adventure in the airconditioned car. We travelled to the town Wangaratta. Wangaratta is a city of almost 17,000 people in the northeast of Victoria about 230 km from Melbourne.
The original inhabitants of the area were the Pangerang Aborigines who spoke a Gunai language. Many of the Pangerang were killed in the Gippsland massacres. Major Thomas Mitchell was the first European to visit the area, passing on his return to Sydney during his 1836 expedition he made a favourable report of its potential as grazing pasture.
We then headed of to the tiny village of El Dorado, which is home to the Smallest Pub in Victoria - Mc Evoy Tavern. Gold was found in the area during the 1850s. The town's population declined sharply after the area ceased to yield gold. The remains of an old gold dredge can still be seen today.

Then onto yet another pub! This one was called The Vine and has an old dirt basement that has a lot of old history of the region. But the main reason we went there was because the basement also has a tunnel that was supposedly once used by our famous Bush Ranger Ned Kelly, to hide out from the law. It's amazing - I am a born and bred Australian but there is so much about this beautiful country I don't know. But I am making that one of my missions for the rest of my life to learn more about why certain towns exist.

50 Positive Affirmations

Good evening all. Well I have had a very lazy day, relaxing by the Murray River. We went for a little drive this morning and then this afternoon I have been reading, having a snooze and playing on Facebook. The amazing Louise Hay put out a challenge today to list 50 Positive Affirmations about yourself. So being always up for a challenge I thought I'd give it a go. But I was struggling and was stuck at 7!! So I thought I would put it out there to my Facebook friends to help me by telling me something positive about me and in return I would tell them some positive things about them. Well I have been blown away with such nice comments that have been made and I have had so much joy from telling others some positive affirmations about them. Who would have thought my quiet day would have turned out so enjoyable. Try it can you list 50 Positive Affirmations about yourself?

Our Week in Yarrawonga

Well we have arrived in Yarrawonga safely with our camper and after a very warm and tiring set up and a yummy dinner we are now settled down at our camp. For my international friends Yarrawonga is situated on the Murray River, which is the border between Victoria and New South Wales. As you can see by my photos below our camp is in a perfect position overlooking the river. I am really looking forward to my week here.

Hope

Today my word in Photo a Day is Hope. I prefer not to start a sentence with I Hope because I believe that's exactly what will continue to happen - hoping. Instead my sentences will start with I Will.

Gratitude

My medicine wheel theme for February is "Gratitude". I love this card because there is so much in my life that I am grateful for. If I was to write all that I am grateful for, this post would be very long. So I will just share a couple.
I'm grateful for my my wonderful family.
I'm grateful that my parents bought me up to be a strong woman.
I'm grateful for the wonderful friends I have.
I'm grateful that I have the confidence to stand by the choices I have made, even if they weren't all good choices.
I just know later this month I am going to be extremely grateful for the outcome.

Inspiration

I seem to be coming across a lot of inspirational sayings lately. Some don't resonate with me at all, some I can really relate to. But this one just had to go as my screen on my iphone.

Paper Beads

I just love doing crafts, any crafts really. I totally relax and solve any problems while sitting creating with my hands. With all that has been going on in my life in the last 4 weeks I have neglected my need to create. Wondering why I was feeling unsettled it finally dawned on me I need to get my hands into something. So I picked up a Simpsons Comic Book that I had bought last year and measured, drew lines, cut, rolled and glued it into some paper beads. Now what to do with them, I think these babies may become a long necklace. Maybe?
